Who are we?

Bethany Gospel Chapel is an independent evangelical church, providing opportunities for worship, fellowship, and Christian growth. At Bethany, we hold firmly to the divine inspiration of the Holy Scriptures and their teaching that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died and rose again for the sins of us all, and one day will return in glory.

Leadership

Leadership at Bethany is provided by a group of lay-elders who are responsible for shepherding individuals as they grow in their faith, and for guiding the assembly as a whole in faithfulness to God’s word. We also believe that God has given gifts and talents to each individual to be nurtured and shared within the church—because of this, the preaching ministry at Bethany is shared between the elders and members of the congregation who are gifted in teaching.

The main duties of the Deacons at Bethany are assisting in the physical and spirituals needs at the chapel. This includes assisting in food for those in need, helping in cleanups and transportation of elderly needs.

Deacons help in distributing funds to youth campers in need of financial assistance at youth retreats. Adults also can receive assisting through the deacons for retreats for personal growth. There are also 2 deacons that are usually on the mission committee. The committee makes decisions on the allotment of funds to each missionary we support. The committee also assists people with short term missions

In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested, and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. 1 Timothy 3:8-13

Membership

There is no official membership procedure at our church, but we encourage families and individuals to prayerfully consider their level of commitment to fellowship and service. We place great value on the Scriptural command to meet together regularly and to encourage one another to love and to good works.
